I have a 05 300ex that I am going to put a 02 400ex carb on. Will the stock jetting on the 400ex carb work, or will I need to rejet (if so, any size recommendations). Live in MI @ about 1000ft elevation and current mods to my 300 are as follows:
Yoshimura pipe and header, K&N filter, punched airbox, and stage 3 AMR CDI box.
Also would it be worth getting port/polish(bang for buck).
Thanks

i dont know if your still wondering. but the stock 400ex jetting may be a little rich with your set-up. i cant remember what i ran personally but i wana say a 148K.
i recomend the 42 pilot jet for the 400ex carb. just go to your local dealer or jetsrus.com and get a few different sizes.
start with the stock 400ex 150 main jet and work your way down untill she runs smooth.
if you need any more help let me know. ive been out of it awhile but i still remember a little bit

All people can tell you about jetting is what worked for them…..altitude, climate, quad mods, all play a part. East Coast ATV sent me what they thought would work and I had him send me one up and one down in size….. I can’t remember were I started but I only made one change and it was great at 158/45. I like to see a little black on the plug and the exhaust tip on a four stroke.
