400ex build for the GF

hey guys i think im going to build the 400ex up some for the GF... little short on money right now so im going to put a piston and cam in the 450r and then tear the 400 down the to the frame.. PC it of course and start from there.. the motor is brand new did it last fall probably has 1 hr on it.. have 450r shocks for it.. going to put some plus 2 aarms and a axle...a exhuast.. probably going with white or black plastic.. black frame.. pink graphics if i can find ones i like. pink and balck a arms. i need a stem for it.. the stock one in it is tweaked some.. probably just a stock stem.. but just going to make it so she can ride with me at the track so shes not always ridding my 450 lol.. about it..not to much money just a little, plastic will be the worse part..it has yellow on it now, its fairly bad..idk just thought i would post up.. getting excited to finally get to wrech on something again..love it..

everyone i can find lol.. log road. red bud.. motoplex. trogan mx. anything lol.. havent been to that one over in butler yet though.. sure i will this spring sometime.. going to be doing alot of ridding at my buddies..we are building a track at his house..its going to be tight...
also hopefully racing most of the great lakes mx series...

The bulter track is two miles north of me. I was there twice this year we always go to the Laotto track. It is better dirt and taken care of. Do you do any harescrables?

no i dont right now..and if the latto(old motoplex track) i still call it that lol.. is in better shape and taking care of than the one over there i dont even want to go to it lol.. the plex is horrible usually.. so i cant imagine worse lol.. anyways no harescrambles..would love to but would want a different bike first..so hopefully this summer i can pick up another bike.. maybe a different mx bike and make the 450r a XC bike.. i like XC alot actually.. do you ride any harescrambles?

We run the four at plymouth d-15 and one or two of ixcr races. It is really laid back and fun! We are going to try to hit a few log roads this year.

A young 30! My boy started racing this year he 7. I have a 416ex full exhaust, wood port, stage two hot cam, and few more goodies. My boy rides a drr 90.

good lol.. got this 400 the exact opposite.. thing was trashed.. toasted motor clutch everything..frame was so bent you have no idea... the piston literally blew up.. mess the cylinder up the clutch the head. of course the piston lol.. rebuilt it though.. its still a stock bore.. has 11:1 sparks key new head... for now anyways.. need a exhuast and probably a cam.. bought a frame off a buddy i know that has a quad business from CO gave me a frame with like no hours on it for 100 bucks lol.. so pretty much brand new frame.. through my stock 450r shocks on it.. its going to be really nice after this time building it back up.. need to get the jetting figured out.. its way messed up and need a new battery..well i hope its only the battery.. dam thing wont charge while i ride it..

ya sure do.. have you ever been to that track..its a really nice track..fun to ride.. i love it.. i really hope i can get this dam job i was suppose to know yesterday or 2 days ago and havent heard anything... if i get it then i will have money to run the whole great lakes mx season and the red bud national.. and some others..

I was up there to watch the harescrable, just to check things out. It looked really nice i liked the track. What job are you trying to get?

oh any job really..im still going to school so trying to get a part time job..i was suppose to be hired at Home Depot but like i said still havent heard from them for some reason...just need s job till summer.. im living in auburn right now since im going to school in fort wayne..

oh stupid ivytech right now.. i graduated highschool in 07 from paririe heights.. and went to a smaller college to play bball...played for 2 years..didnt like it at all so i transfered to ivytech and have been taking just online classes there since i transfered till this semester..taking them in person..when i transfered only 2 classed out of 2 years of school transfered..so i got screwed over there bad.. my real goal is to get this done and then go to a quad mechanic school..like MMI.. thats my dream job..and hopefully not to far out..i love and i mean love wrenching..about as much as ridding..

Wow didnt realize we had riders so close, im from Butler also. I go to tri state alot and ride, I have a Kawasaki KFX 450r and im 19. We should all go riding once the weather gets better. Im building my kfx up for mx right now. Tri state has gotten better, the redesigned the track and have taken better care of it. Oh ha my name is Jesse by the way. 3400ben, we have talked before on here, you may have seen me at tri state before but idk.

r has full everything..full suspension custom super tall stem...well guess the motor isnt full.. just about to do the motor here within a couple weeks.. going CP piston 13:5:1 with coated skirts probably.. idk what cam yet..wanted to run sparks for the low end but they cost to much maybe a 02 crf or a hc2 for now.. full dasa pipe(already have that) and maybe a port job by rage or racers edge..or maybe dasa if my buddy can get me another killer deal on one lol.. and thats probably about it for the motor right now.. oh replacing the crank bearings while im in there also cam chain just for safetly the the now going to be expensive motor...

You have a nice look R man. I dont want to do much to the Kawi yet because I might trade her in for a new YFZR. The Kawi just needs to much money to make it race ready, whereas the YFZR all I would need is an axle, wheels/tires, exhaust, intake, and a power commander. I seen you are going to be building a track, where at? How often do you ride?

thanks man.. and the new yfzr's are supper nice and fast... i like them actually... and i ride ever chance i get man.. like i said earlier if i get this job or any job i might try and race the whole great lakes mx series.. so maybe a race every weekend lol and my buddies track will be outside of stroh...its right kinda by prairie heights high school.. its in between angola and lagrange.. idk when we are going to get to it though.. need alot of dirt still.. it wont be real big either.. dad chargeing to much for the land lol.. it will be like a supercross track..really hard one too knowing my buddy lol..

What class level are you racing? I was about to actually sell my quad because all my buddies were dirtbike riders and they either sold their stuff or moved. But i cannot find it in me to give up racing. That would be badass to have a technical SX track though. I havent had anytime to ride really, the quad is either broken or i have work, and now im gonna start school in the fall. Do alot of guys ride with you? I might try some of the races with you.

sweet wite plastic.. i think we are going to go with white plastic... but not sure..maybe black still..its going to be sweet.. have about everything we need now except plus 2 a arms and plastic.. about to start tearing it down and get the frame pced..

It's the white carbon fiber looking plastic from Maier, it looks pretty good up close.

That does look pretty good. Are you getting different rims/tires?

I think I'm going to stick with the wheels and tires it has I just have to clean them up. I don't think I'm going to add any more pink just in case my daughter grows tired of it. The seat cover and the grips are easy to change.
