grooved radials?

I have a set on some douglas red labels and im wondering why mine has a whole outside section grooved off? I mounted them with that section to the outside, should it be to the inside?

lol i guess your right. Ill get some tomorrow and post them up. I found a few different sets and looked at them and every set is grooved different on the outside, some left it normal on the outside, others grooved every few sections out of it and mine are grooved all the way around on one side and normal on the other
