I have family that live all over the place in MD. Port tobacco, Bryans RD. St Charles, Waldorf, Hughesville. Glad I’m not up there for a visit. You guys can have all that cold weather, that’s why I live in TX. Though I do think you guys are having more then usual.

Have fun in the snow!!!

bah ... that's nothing . That's what we call a little "dusting" .

I laugh everytime I turn on the TV and see the panic and the stores running out of groceries because a storm might be on it's way . I should start my own plowing business ... i bet i could retire after 3 big snowfalls in the USA. :blah:

We went to the store as usual on a friday morning, dealt with the empty sheleves (i just hollared to my man in the back and went in the cold storage for milk LOL)

Its a giant pain in the *** this damn snow. Had to rearrange the end of the week shooting schedule, rush parts around to place that will or can work with 3 feet of snow on the ground, make sure things were ready for me to be able to work through the weekend etc.

No worries here about needing anything for 7 to 10 days, and I can imagine if we get the 30+ they are preparing us for here that it will be mid week before the roads are opened (you dont drive these roads in snow....they are nasty and steep and no guardrails)

So, the kids and wife are building trails every 3 hours so they can go play, shoveling the driveway as well (thats because I told them my John Deere wont go in that snow...LOL...its just to get them out of here and do something besides bug me!) I will see whats out there when it ends and me and the Deere will go to work:devil:

Now if I could not be mad at my brother for NOT returning my snowblower before he moved:grr: I would have all my trails open and get to cover the family with snow once again, they are a forgetful bunch:devil:

They told me its superbowl weekend as well, so I will be smoking a pork butt, ribs and some other mansized chunk of meat starting tomorrow evening.

Life is good, even if it the snow is a PITA!

Pappy
02-05-2010, 04:35 PM
Oh and as a huge kick in the ***, tuesday -wednesday they are saying there is the potential for another storm exactly like this one.

If we end up with 50 inches of snow....I will be moving to a warmer climate

Pappy! where are you located? thats alot of snow !

Pappy
02-05-2010, 06:45 PM
Near Berkeley Springs WV

We already have a solid 7-8 inches and its picking up pretty good now.

When I lived in Maryland (damn near all my life) the roads were runable within 24 hours of a storm, even the big ones.

Up here.....we have seen almost a week with no state truck plowing the main road to us and there are times when we dont see them at all:eek2:

JRP
02-05-2010, 06:52 PM
already have about 8-9 inches here, calling for the worst to be from 10pm to 8am. calling for a total of 30inches! sucks so much

Ken ... you should buy a sled or get BRP to send you a new Ski-Doo . Tellem you'll do some photoshoots and testing. You'll be hooked the moment you throw a leg over one.

You can move up here . Snow has been scarce this season . I might even see my lawn by April.

Greg, this year is highly unusual for this region....usually a few snows a year and thats that. Not many sleds around here unless the owners head north to ride.

I have a Renegade here from Can Am....im sure it will see some snow in teh coming days:devil:

I just got done trying to clear the driveway and my driveway is about 1000 ft. long. I am saying it is snowing about 2 inches per hour at the moment (that is what I mean by trying to clear it). I cleared about 8-9 inches off the driveway so far and that is not getting to the bottom since my driveway is stone. It should be fun in the morning when I get up to do it again. I also have a couple of older Arctic Cat sleds and can't wait to get on them (92 Jag and 81 Pantera).

Good advice ... always ask your cabbie where he's from especially if you take one during or after a huge snowstorm. Avoid Florida cab drivers and hire drivers from the north.:blah:
