300ex front end questions

im putting stock 400ex a-arms on my brothers 300, now i have a couple questions someone told me that i can use 450r front shocks cuz they are the same length as the 400 shocks is this true? also how well do the shock relocater brackets hold up on a mx track?

i put 400ex a arms on my 300ex just a couple of weeks ago im not sure if 450r shocks are the same but ive heard they work the bracket seems to be very strong im very happy with mine it handles ten times better.

450r shocks can be used.

and i put my suspensions though hell and never had a problem with the relocator

cool, thanks for the info guys. is there any modifications that need to be done for the 450 shocks or just the relocater bracket? also are you guys still running stock length axels?

sorry to be a pest but will any 450r shocks like from 04-08 or do i need them for a certain year?

Your not being no pest. Thats what is site is for. No certain year just make sure they aren't wore out.

Oh yea I have a GDH relocater bracket and have had no trouble with it.

where is everyone getting these hoods for the 300ex? i cant find one anywhere do they make them for the 300ex or do i need to get one for a diff quad and make it fit??

i was talking to a buddy of mine today and he said that some ppl told him going with the 400 conversion kit raises the quad a bit is this true? i was under the impression that it lowers the quad

well if you put the 400ex front end basically on the 300 with the relocater bracket what do you have to do with the back? im assuming its probably wider in the front now with the 400 front end so do you guys run like spacers or wider axles?? and do you keep the stock shock on it? Wouldnt it sit higher in the front also?

just put this together the other day with a homemade shock relocator the height seems to be exactly the same i dont know how it would be with a bought shock relocator of ebay... you will need the 400ex shocks too (16inch) as far as the rear shock many ppl use raptor rear shocks for a upgrade... for now i am leaving my rear stock width until i come across a good deal on some spacers or a wider axle... possibly this spring.
