I believe most people use the Hot Rods kit and most are 11 or 12:1

hot rods is the economy kit for the doit yourself crowd , i like mine but you need to buy their piston because the height of the 4mm piston varies from one manufacturer to another (probably due to compression) . i think most people have a atv mechanic install theirs because i read the forums and many people have them but no one really talks about the specifics.

I would recommend the Powroll setup. I'm building one right now, and those guys really know their stuff. They cost quite a bit more than the Hot Rods kit, but there is minimal if any piston skirting required and I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Just my .02.

x2.

Powroll is a great outfit to deal with, they are more expensive but you get a quality product for the price.

I built my 440stroker in April of 06' using Powrolls setup. No issues to date, and this engine has been run hard.

wheelie can you elaborate on minimal piston skirting? Are you saying the piston has a shorter skirt or are you referring to something else?

Powroll machines the bottom of the piston skirt for added clearance due to their short rod design.

They use a piston with the stock wrist pin location, this is why the shorter rod is used (2mm shorter) and why the piston skirt needs modified.

wheelie mine (CP) the wrist pin is cut higher in to the ring landings and the skirts are cut off ,i got two different stroker pistons and a 440 wiesco that im comparing what im wondering is your piston cut down on the top as well?

The top is untouched, they only shave the bottom of the piston skirts.
