Clutch cable adjustment

I finally got the block off for the parking break and a new clutchand new cable.

How do you know if the cable has the right tension on it. The lever has a little play in it before you feel the tension is this ok?
or should it be all the way tight?

that sounds right.....you don't want to get it to tight. If you do then your clutch may be partially engaged when you are just riding. there should be a little play. AND the pull is much lighter with play. people who have there's adjusted to tight have a harder pull.
