Has anyone ever broken them, I hit a tree about two weeks ago and broke three of them. Now I got my new bumper and the bolts are still in there. I will take them out today . but does anyone know what size, or if their metric. Or should I re-tap them and put standard in there.

When you get the old ones out, if the threads look questionable you can run a tap through to clean up the old threads. Be sure to use WD-40 or some kind of oil on the tap, and take it nice & easy. Don't get it in crooked, and whatever you do, don't snap it off or you'll really be hating life. If it starts to bind, then back up. If you have to buy the tap, get a 2-fluted one if possible. They work better, and are stronger. (Should cost about $4 at a good tool house)

The thread pitch you need is 8 X 1.25mm. NO reason to put in a standard thread.

Good luck!

Try a hammer and a small punch. Just tap it out.

center punch the bolt. take a drill bit and drill a hole in the bolt. then take an easy-out and pound it in the hole. use a vise-grip and turn it out. it should work. then rethread the hole.
