I sware this has been covered to death but I can't find it in a search. I've got a cylinder and I'm not sure what year it is. Its not an 86 (I have an 86, its not the same). The casting looks very similar, so I believe its a 87,88,or 89
So my question is, will this non-1986 cylinder work on my 1986 bottom end?
thanks in advance,
derek

any of the ATC/TRX 85-89 cylinders will exchange on a bottom end. The crank year used and the piston used must match for long rod or short rod. Or you can use the 87-89 crank with a spacer plate and the 86 piston. I'm sure there's more combinations, those are just some of the more common ones.

thanks for the info! I found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rZrbcnfo_k&feature=related) also while I was checking out youtube.
If the guy is correct, the cylinder I thought was an 86 is the 87+ and vice versa.
