400 Ex Starter Solenoid

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU COULD USE A AUTOMOTIVE SOLENOID ON A HONDA 400EX. THE OEM IS QUITE EXPENSIVE, ITS ONLY A 12 VOLT SWITCH BUT IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE?

When i bought my 99 400 it had a riding lawn mower soleniod on it and it worked fine you can find them at a lawn shop if not a shop in arkansas that is on ebay that sells them for 20 or 25 bucks i bought one and no problems so far....all honda quads 300s,fortrax,400s use the same soleniod:)
