View Full Version : Brake Pads? what happen?

I needed new back brake pads so i went and got me a pair and i didnt but prolly take it for two or three rides(trails) and there GONE!!! so now another $30 is it cause i didnt get a good brand or maybe installation??

please help thanks

There is alot of things that could speed it up but maybe you got brake pads that are for dry areas and i assume by trails you ride in some mud so that could of messed em up way faster I guess.

Do you still have your parking brake on?

Caliper could be locked up, take it apart and see if you can compress it easily.

depending on how hard you ride they are gonna go i know my rear brake pads last me about 2 to 3 races if im lucky

I went through a pair of heavy duty pads in 1 day. I was riding in a sand quarry with fine sand and mud though.

yea the last few rides have been muddy thats probally what did it, the calipor is fine checked it lastnight.

loose axle or warped rotor will do it too.

or riding with your foot on the brake pedal. I see that all the time.

i rode sand, dirt, mud and grass the whole summer and replaced my rears twice. still on the same pads in the front

I do way better with stock Honda pads than anything else.

Make sure the caliper slide pin is able to slide. I bet it is seized up.
Take it out clean it & lube it. Put it back together and your pads will last allot longer.

Mine go quick too, i think i have slightly warped rotor and i ride in dusty sandy conditions down here in florida.
