ok im sure this tread has been beat to death by now. but i need to know. i just bought 05 450r shocks for my 05 400ex, anything i need to know? how do u tune them in? also i have a pancaked front rim who has one for me? as close to ohio as possible!

As far as I know you will have to do some shaving on the top of the shock (were eye nut is) so be able to bolt it up.

dont shave the the top of the shock y would u wanna grind on ur new shocks? if i were u i would take out the nut that is welded on the inside of the shock mount and put a carraige bolt from the bottom up or just grind on the nut a little u dont need to take much material off to make it fit thats wat i did and the nut still worked for me.

agreed. do not grind. take the nut off that is the fender mount. use a flat topped bolt from the bottom to the top and mount the bracket again. check out the link i posted it shows this method. steve

All you need is a cold chisel, smash the welded on bolt right off.

I modified my upper mounts too b/c they didnt allow the shock to fully rotate, small bit of grinding.

all good advice but i wont b grinding on these shocks. really i should have been more specific. i meant adjust them for feel. there r hard and soft adjusting screws at the top and the bottom, also there r two at the top of srping i assume this is for peload. if someone could tell me exactly what the other two r for and im sure i can figure out the rest, thanx
