87 250x headlight mods

Anybody do or have done a headlight modificatiopn, on their 250x? I bought a dual round 400ex headlight to mount right under front fender, but when both lights are on, they seem very dim,even on high beam-maybe bulb problem?

I bought 2, 55 watt halogen lights on ebay for 18 dollars. they are 2 inch tall by 3 inch wide. i made a custom key bracket to mount on to my steering stem were the old key bracket was.
only downside they only have lowbeam but they are extremely bright.

When I bech tested the 400ex lights, I used a 12vac flashlight charger with 500ma output, which in turn made the light output very dim. I temporarily tied in the 400ex lights to my250x,started the engine up, and walla - the 400ex lights are pretty bright on high beams. I'm pretty happy with the 400 dual round lights. Now need to make up a mounting bracket to hold lights stationary under front fender nose.

hmm idk wat kinda bracket u would wana make but depending on where ur putting them u could make a bracket of aluminum with angle iron on the ends and just drill holes to bolt them on the end, and to the frame. or u could make some sort of thing like i made above^
