play in steering system

Is is normal for the DS450 to have some play in the steering? The helm joints on the tie rods seem to have some movement when the handlebars are moved and the front wheels held still. The joint is tight to the rod. It has been like this since new. The handlebars just move about an 1/16 to 1/8 inch before the front wheels start to move.

I am not sure how tight these ATVs are supposed to be. The steering joints on my shifter kart have no play but it runs on smoother surfaces at a lot higher speeds so its tolerances might be better (it was alot more expensive).

Mine was/is the same way man. After a full race season there is the same exact amount of play as it was new.

What I found on mine was all the play is in the bottom bearing for the steering stem. I'm guessing yours is the same way.

Mine is same too! They have changed the balljoints under warranty and same exact play after, it's normal...
