How much of an improvement are aftermarket front shocks for a 400EX? I really dont do any crazy riding but i like a smooth solid ride and in the fall im gonna start doin some jumpin and I don't wanna bust mah ballz on the seat. I have the whole quad torn down right now for valve maintenance and carb adjustment and thought this could be a good time for doing other stuff. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Whether your trail riding, racing, duning or what ever the shocks are the best bang for the buck....you'll be amazed at the difference it makes...it not only soaks up the jumps but it makes for such a smooth ride,,,,it's like going down a highway in a bigo stinkin lincoln or caddy compared to going down it in a beat up VW..:D

Mike...I am thinking about buying set of Works shocks...maybe if we buy them together we can get a deal or something. I'll be getting them after my truck exhaust (hopefully should be ordered in 1 week).

How much are you looking to spend on shocks?

If you are going to spend the $$$ get a set of triple rates then...

To save yourself some money, and you are not in a hurry, buy them on line. I bought a set of works triples w/o rezzies for less than $300 and they are only 2 months old. Dennis Kirk wanted almost $500! Just be sure to get the right weight setting so you don't have to have them revalved.
I got mine off of www.atvconnetion.com I should have them sometime this week.

I would go with the PEP race shocks. The quality is better plus everybody seems to like them more.

I think Oynot400 meant to say www.shocconnection.com (http://www.shocconnection.com) That's where I bought my Works tripples. They got em right out....and built them to my weight and style. Best 300 bucks I ever spent!

300 bucks for both fronts? Did you get the rear revalved? How do they work?

you should get works steelers with rezzies from shocconnection.com for 300, like EXtreme- said, but as you described it you don't ride all that serious so if i were you i'd would wait till i started serious jumping to get the shocks or just get a cup (L.O.L.)

WarriorMan: my advice is... "not to go with what everyone has, they usually have no brain, your better off alone." (L.O.L.) :D

Will the works steelers triple rate with a rezzie hold up to a make not extreme but moderate jumping (30ft doubles, flat landers?)
