Turned the fuel on today and it is running out the overflow fast. Never had carb off. What do I have to do or any tricks? Can I just loosen the boots on either side and twist the carb to get the bowl off? TIA

This has happened to mine as well. Its caused by the needle and seat not sealing, usually because the needle is stuck open. A simple tap on the side of the bowl will cure the problem. Nothing needs replacement.

Already tried the tapping, didn't work.

take the plug ouy of the bottom of the float bowl put the plug back in remove the fuel line an fill the carb with carb cleaner then rock the quad side to side and let set 5 min or so then drain it hook your fuel line back up and try it mine sat for about 2 months an did the same thing it worked for me. if not you may have to take the carb off tear it apart an clean it.

On the 05's I normally have luck loosening the boots and turning the carb so the bowel faces you. But not so much on the 06's, top of the carb normally gets hooked on something. Plus starter ground wires get in the way and such. YMMV though.

I normally find it easier to pop the air box off and take the carb right out of the bike. You don't need to take the plastics off.

Took rear fender off and gas tank and got carb out the top. Found needle stuck. Sure is easier to take the carb off the good old 250r's than this huge fcr. Thanks for the help
