250r aarms fit on 300ex frame right? no modding to frame involved correct?

250R a-arms will NOT fit. They can be spread a bit (or is it squeezed?)and made to fit, but without modding, nope. You CAN put 400EX a-arms on with no mods.

ive been told that 300ex aarms fit on the 300ex with no modding if you take the bushings out...

does anyone out there run 250r aarms on there 300ex and know for a fact they fit?

come on guys... i sold them to a buddy of mine, and i was pretty sure they would fit... he said there only off by a few cm...

what could he do? cut the bushings mabe? (beerock suggested that) or mabe grind em down?

heres a pic of the 250r aarms compared to his 300ex ones...
just grind em down right?

the 400ex ones will fit because the mounting area is skinnier and the R mounting are has to be shaved down to fit

I've always heard of chopping the bushings down (which wouldnt be hard).
but if you shaved down the arm mounts, wouldnt the bushings still be just as wide? I havent seen stock bushings/arms in a long time

Ive heard about shaving the bushings, and ive also heard that using the 300ex bushings in the 250r arms will make them fit on a 300ex. But thats only what ive heard, worth a try before you shave them.

Use the 300EX bushings thats what I had to do. If you don't have your old bushings laying around just grind down the end of the 250R bushings and they will fit. I did this to the bushings that came with my front end and I now have 2 sets of bushings that I swap out every one in a while. It works fine.

Well, it requires some modifying, but I got the Job done. I ground the rubber parts of the bushing, and squeezed the metal parts in with a vice(if that makes sense). I was getting kinda stressed getting it ready for my flat track race tomorow, but its done. Heres a pic of it half done

heres the finished product, as you can see there is no shocks, its set up for my flat track race tomorow. But dont worry, in two weeks Ill have 250R shocks on and a bolt on mount from Toby400EX.....

you really didn't have to grind anything. You can pull out the 250R bushings and put the 300EX bushings in the 250R a-arms. That's what i did. Actually I did it on a 250X, not a 300EX but it's the same.

my 300EX bushings were shot, it wouldnt have been worth it, thats one of the major reasons I decided to get new A-arms, I asked Tants 1500 times if the Bushings were still good

that jack is awesome! lol, weve had that thing forever, it needs some work, the wheels are rusty, and it could use some paint. But it still works as good as ever.

Tants- Yeah, definetly worth the money now!

They worked great in my flat track race tonight, the front tires were gripping so much better than with the flipped rims.
I got second in qualifying, and I won the Main, and I think I owe it to my new 250R a-arms:cool:
