okay so in september i bought a 1987 honda TRX 250x all stock.
Since then i bought;
.brand new maier front race cut plastic
.brand new rear brake caliper
.2 inch rear wheel spacers
.kenda dirt claws on douglas rims
.Pro taper atv mid blend, Protaper grips, and hand guards
.2006 300ex rear shock
.all new front end bearings
.full cobra pipe
.rebuilt engine
.new seat cover
.Factory effex graphics kit
.custom made key holder, with 55 watt halogen lights.
.i ordered a shock relocator, im buying 400ex stock shocks, and a-arms probably monday.
The point is that i am 6 foot 200 pounds, and im starting to get into some mods, i want to put a full yosh pipe, engine mods, aftermarket shocks, and powercoat alot of parts.
IM WONDERING IF THIS IS A WAISTE OF TIME, SHOULD I JUST RIDE IT AND SAVE UP FOR A 400 SINCE IM BIG. OR SHOULD I GET MODS AND STICK WITH THE 250X, IT HAULS PRETTY GOOD RIGHT NOW.



PLEASE HELP ME OUT!! TELL ME SUGESTIONS ON PARTS TOO IF I SHOULD KEEP MY 250X.

it depends what kind of riding u do. if u think the 250x is not fast enough then buy a bigger quad.

well if i get a bore kit, 400ex carb, pistons, cams and some other things do you think i would get some more speed, im not really in it for the speed i mainly ride on a track.
i like how its easy to whip it around corners and stuff the but suspension is not good for me haha

just get her a nice pipe and air. then suspension. what im getting is 400ex long travel a-arms with 450r shocks and a raptor 660 rear shock

well i already bought the 400ex front a-arms/ spindles/ tierods and the coversion. i just need to buy shocks im not sure if i should go with the 400 shocks or the 450. and wat pipe do you suggest? i might get an hmf slip on and use my cobra header. i have a UNI filter

kfx450r shocks or yfz450 shocks.

Another question i have, i found these 400ex front shocks on ebay and they measure 18 inches long!. is that normal? i thought they were only 16.25

18 inches is the long travel set up, which you need long travel 400ex a arms and the shock relocater. 16.25 inches is the standard travel set up.

I just got my 400ex stock a-arms im stripping them down to get some fresh paint, im going with a metallic with black speckle.
The bottom arm is just over 13 and 1/2 in long can i use the 18inch long travel shocks with these? my jb relocator is coming wednesday

Looks like your on the right track...If your gonna being using it for trail riding I would sugest you keep your 250X spindles on it. If you put the 400ex spindles it want track as well. They are fine for MX but not very good for XC.

BTW..you will still need the relocater if you use 250r shocks.


If you need shocks I thnk I've got a complete set and a 660 raptor rear shock..I would sell all three pretty cheap. They are takeoffs from Holdens quad...he is moving up to the sport class next year.

As of now
-still need to put 400ex front end and other things on
-Thinking about getting frame red, and front a-arms gray speckle but help with colors.
-i'm not sure wat to do with rear fenders should i just clean em up, put the rear graphics on and slap on some plastic renew or get new plastic?
-Think im getting some ITP rear bajas wrapped with ITP holeshots, and maybe a +2 lonestar steering stem from friend
