Figured I would post this up incase anyone is interested. I spoke with Ed Teixeira today and ordered a set of his 250R a-arms. He actually has quite a few sets in stock at a good price. These are a long shock a-arm that use a 20" eye to eye shock.

http://www.teixeiratech.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TRX250ra%2Darms

I have been running Ed's a-arms on one of my 450R's for over two years, and my other 450R for the last year. They are some of the best a-arms I have ever ran and I expect more of the same from his 250R a-arms.

I should have mine by the end of next week. I will post up some pics when I get them.

I fixed it in the original post. It worked last night, I guess we will see how long the new one lasts.

Not sure on the exact size, but the tops are actually heims. I believe the lowers are the press in type, same as what Houser and others use.

This is a for sale thread I found from a few months ago that has some better pics:

Again, I will post some more when I get my arms.

I like the looks of their arms, I have been thinking of getting a set. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about them.

Doug, I am getting ready to purchase a set of 250R Long Travel a-arms. If Ed has a set on the shelf I will take them.

Ed told me he has a bunch in stock, with two color options. One is a gloss black, although he did say the gloss is not really glossy. The other he said was kind of hard to explain, kind of a greyish blue I think. I wanted the black anyway, so I did not get any details on the other color. Give Ed a call on Monday and he can get you setup.

Pics of the arms are below. Very nice set of arms for the price. No ball joints, everything is heims. Going to be a while before I get them mounted up though, need to get some shocks first.

Doug.....Yep, they look like mine. I just got them today. Can't wait to get them on the 250R. I already had some long travel shocks but not long travel a-arms. I post a pic when I get them on. Gonna be a while though.

Don't heim joints wear out a ton faster than ball joints, though?

This is the first set of heimed a-arms I have ever owned, so I really have no idea. Maybe others who have experience can chime in. I know quite a few a-arm builders use heims, so I figure if they were really that bad, no one would use them. I guess it just depends on where you ride and how you maintain your quad, lots of mud and never cleaning your quad will wear anything out fast. Ball joints have to be replaced also. The ones on my race quad get replaced once a year as they start to get a little play in them at that time.

Old style Houser's use heims too, they work great. They changed to ball joints when they went to sli-cast style upper spindle mount.

Hey Doug, do these arms specifically require the use of 400ex spindles similar to the walsh or roll set-ups ?

No, they can be used with stock 250R spindles. I will be using them with my stock 86 spindles.

Hello.Do you know what your final overall width will be in the front with these arms on?Also do you know if the upper hiems will fit in a 4-1 offset rim?

I am not sure what the overall width will be. I would think there should be no problem using a 4:1 rim, as Ed never said anything about having to use a specific rim. Your best bet would be to give Ed a call and ask him.

Just as a follow up. Looks like the quad will be 50" wide with 3:2 offset wheels. I also have 4:1 wheels and they fit fine also, no clearance problems.

Below is a pic of the arms mounted. Ordering shocks on Monday. Once I get the shocks I will post a pic of the arms with the quad on its tires.

I really like those arms. I'm in Vegas also, where do you go ride? Is there anywhere close besides apex?

Man they look great!I want to get me a set bad.I was hoping they would measure out to be 49" with 3:2 offset. That way I could get down to 47" with 4:1 offset. Thanks for the update!

Yeah, the 50" is a close guess, once I get the quad on the ground I will know the exact width, but I do not see it being even close to 49" with the 3:2 wheels. I am actually doing the same thing, switching to 4:1 wheels when I need to be narrower. 48" works for me though, besides, 48" is as narrow as I can get with the rear axle.

Just a update. Got my Motowoz shocks a couple of weeks ago and got the quad back on its tires. Still have a few more things to finish up, should be taking it out next weekend for a ride. With 3:2 offset wheels, quad is about 50.5" wide. That is with a pretty tall ride height also, need to get the next softer spring for the front to get the ride height down some. Once I get the ride height to where I want, I am sure the width will be close to 51".

Below are a couple of pics.

That looks awesome!I've heard good things about MOTOWAZ.Are you going to stay with the 3:2 offset?Or eventually go with 4:1?Thanks for the update!

Just going to use the 3:2 wheels, I have no problems being 51" wide, actually works good out in the desert.
