Depends on the length and linkage. The remote rezzies aleviate the stock 450r shock issues but the stock 450r linkage uses a shorter shock than a 250r. I think the 450r stock length is 15 1/4" or close to that and the stock 250r is 16.5". But if it comes off a bike that used an aftermarket linkage, like JD, LSR DC-6 etc, some of those use a 16.5" length shock.

I could be wrong but I also think the bottom mount on the shocks are different width's I'm in the process of putting my 450r swinger and Axis shock on mine, but I'm waiting on new swingarm bearing sleeves 86-87 style. So at this time I'm gonna try to use the 450r linkage, even though people say you can't. My link is a Gt Thunder, I'm hoping that if I drill new holes about 3/4 of inch towards the motor that will set it up more like the 450... my .02 hope that made sense

I can measure this when I get home. I'm not sure on the mounts as far as whether the yolk is the same width or not on the bottom.

I'm looking for a rear shock for my 250R build as well and had the same questions.

my axis that just came off my 450r bottom yolk is approx 1 1/8" the stock shocks I have are approx 1 5/16" I believe all 3 are 87's:( , so that's why I guess I'm gonna have to try and make it work

I measured mine on the quad it was about 16 inches eyey to eye.
Bottom was 1 1/4 inches to the inside of the forked part. top 1.5 inches so if someone can measure their 450r shock stock or elka then I will know if i can make it work. I think it might.

Just for info, I have a aftermarket linkage on my 450R and just so happen to have the shock off the quad right now. Eye to eye will not really help, since it is alot longer then stock, but the top and bottom mounts are the same as the stock 450R shock:

Top = 1 1/4" wide
Bottom = 1 1/8" wide

I have a Elka on my 250R, but I could not get any measurements on it since it is mounted on the quad, to difficult to get to. If my memory serves me correctly though, I am pretty sure both top and bottom mounts are wider the then 450R.

If the 450r is narrow which they are saying you'd have interference... at least the way I read this... :)

1-1/8" vs. 1-1/4", you have to either shave your linkage down or the inside of your bottom fork.
