I have been reading and reading on the tps im new to the yfz and did the zip tie mod today got to looking and noticed that it had a tps sensor,, Lot of people say leave it alone and a few people say it makes cleaner and crisper throttle response when taking it off.. I saw sparks makes a kit..??? Do you need this kit to accomplish what ever your doing with the kit or can you make a block off for the hole and splice some wires together or just unplug it.... Please help o and i also spliced the throttle wires together off the housing on the bars didnt know if this and the tps went together or had an effect on one another...

The tps does 2 things..it slightly alters the ign curve in correspondence to throttle position ...it also works with the carb and throtthe switch as a fail safe for a sticking throttle when one switch is completing a circuit and the other does not it will cut ign.

so miles what you are saying with the wires on the throttle cut you must run the tps???? Does disabling the tps help the power....

the throttle wires correspond with the carb switch for throttle sticking issues...the tps slightly alters ign curve...signal is sent from the cdi to the tps which is a multi resistor then back to the cdi to alter the curve....its benifical to leave the tps in the carb your not gaining anything by taking it out

o yeaa never mind just looked at it...they are adjustable all it is is to make sure its getting the specified value of voltage to the cdi....because its a multi resistor and depending on its position the resistance goes up or down.

ok, well i moved it the other day while doing the zip tie mod and am curious of where it needs to be, im assuming if its not in its correct position the bike will not run right if it has to do with voltage and current to the cdi.... Do you know how to adjust it,,, thanks
