new 300ex reverse

has anyone tried putting the new turn knob reverse on a older 300ex?

wondering if this works

it cant be done. the turn knob is an electrical switch which allows you to kick down from 1st into reverse. the lever shifts from neutral to reverse

Yes it can be done . You have to change some things in the trany mainly the shiftdrum. Cost you around $200. The knob drives a cable it is not electrical.

i dont mind the reverse. everyone makes a big deal about how bad it is.. i mean the 400ex is easier.. but its better than NOT having reverse.
