Im building a yz426/250r hybrid, I want to use a oil cooler instead of an oil tank. Has anyone done this? Any Pics?

You need the tank to hold a certain amount of oil to keep It from breaking down quickly (VERY frequent changes would be needed). The oil pump needs a set amount to do It's job sending oil through all the line's, and still have enough laying In the case at the pickup tube to keep up with the pump's suction side. I would suggest you run a tank with at least the stock oil volume. If you wanted to run a cooler, you could probably add one Into the return hose going back to the tank from the engine. If the stock pump could keep up after adding the cooler you would also add more volume to the system because the cooler also hold oil.

So unless you use a BIG cooler, I don't know If you could hold enough oil In just the cooler to feed the entire engine and keep up on the suction side. The pickup side of the pump needs to have oil at all times.
