Train Horns

how much would a train horn setup for my truck cost? like are they expensive or hard to hook up? im talking one that just about makes people drop :devil:

You could get you a truck horn and use a air tank to power it. I’ve seen that done. Put two on it and set the tone at two deferent sounds. i.e. One high note and one low. It sounds nasty if you get the tone right.

Or you can buy the cheaper stuff for much less and will not be as loud.

i was at the Atlanta motor speedway last year for there summer drag series and a guy had one in his lifted chevy, he tapped them twice and blue and red lights surrounded his truck.

I used to drive a Mack that had a horn that sounded just like a train horn. I loved it cuz when cars would stop on the train tracks at a red light and I’d hit the horn and watch them panic trying to get off the tracks thinking a train was coming. Funny as hell.

I was thinking more like a used horn off an old junked one and a home made air tank to power it.

check out local custom shops. one of our locals sells a bad *** kit for 350. thats horn, tank, compressor and switch. its not as loud as ^^ obviously, but they will sit you on your ***. tank size, hose size, pressure switch, etc, all play a role in sound too.

my buddys neighbor threatened to call the cops on us for our wheelers being to loud once. we told him to go ahead so we could inform him of the loud arse train horns on his truck.

they are cop magnents. and knowing your record thats not a good thing.

yea i know i got 5 points, one more and i lose my license again so im taking it easy. idk i dont think ill get horns right away, i have some other things i wanna do to the truck first. maybe sometime down the road

haha nah my dads got that covered. i just thought it might be some cheap fun, going around scaring people and stuff. but yea not as cheap as i thought, not gonna spend money on that, ill get something more useful. and btw i do have a life ;) you seem offended... sorry

Haha I'm not offended because I'm not living close to you. But since you said you have been in trouble already, why do something that is just going to draw attention to you in a bad way. You are just going to end up wasting money, and getting in trouble for it. Use that money on tires, rims, or some other cosmetic part for your truck. You will benefit way more from stuff like that. :cool:

yea thats the plan... i dont think horns would get you in a lot of trouble though would they? pretty sure the cops around here would just give us a lecture.
