cam question

if i install a stage 1 or stage 2 hotcam should i put on an xr400 head gasket either way or just stage 2? stock bore/stroke. some easy mods already done. also how significant a differrance in the two? thanks

A 10:1 - 10.5:1 piston would do you more good with the cam and would give you the power increase your looking for!

Without a piston and the XR gasket I would do only the stage 1 HC.

But as cheap and most bang for your buck upgrade in power that piston gives you, $140ish for a JE piston at 10.5:1, perfect, and even with a stage 1 cam you will be amazed the differance!
