I put a set of ex spindles on and then slid my 88 hubs on. Eveything seemed fine until i went to tighten them up. On the 250 spindles you could tighten them down and would not bind. On the ex you can barly tighten them up. They start binding/dragging.
Does anyone know what might be wrong.

If you compare your original 250r spindles to the 400ex spindles you will see that there is no lip for the seal to ride on, on the 400ex spindle. This lip is also where the bearing seats against, right now you are just seating against the inboard seal, hence binding. This is a bushing on the 400ex which is a seperate piece and needs to be placed on the spindle before putting on the hubs. I just orderd a set of these bushings a couple of months ago. I think they are like 5 bucks each.

the 89 250r and 400ex spindles are tapered. 88 250r spindles aren't tapered. You need to hit out one of the bearings and put in a 89 250r or 400ex tapered spacer between the bearings.
