It may move your power curve around a little bit, but it won't be a huge difference in overall power. When you get into bigger cams and more compression, the head pipe will be more beneficial.

I wouldn't say you will loose ALOT, but you will lose some. You gain some acceleration as well. You can put a bigger sprocket on the front, or a smaller sprocket on the rear to gain some top end back.

naw i bought the bike with 18s on it but he also gave me the stock ones with very good tread to. but what size would be good to go on the front for more top end

your front tires dont do much for your speed.
what kind of riding you do should dictate your tire choices, if you dont ride MX, 18's are way too small and punture prone.

i would go with 20's then, good midpoint. then you can gear it from there exactly how you want it.

cause one my friends got a ltr with cherry bomb on 18s and my other friend got a banshee with fmf pipe i just wanna stay with them and i kinda like the little tires. so you think 18s will stay up with them on my bike

the LTR comes stock with 18's

the only problem with running 18's in your situation is that almost all of them are very not puncture resistent. When i had my stock 2 ply radials, we took them off to replace them and they had 7 plugs between both the backs, i upgraded to 6 ply tires and havent had a single one yet in over a year.

If you aren't racing mx, 18s are about pointless. 20 inch rear will ride better, and give you a better length of gear. If you're wanting to beat your buddies LTR, it just depends on ho far you are racing. You can gear it to top out at 50 and get there quick, or to wind out at 85.
