all kinds of confusing

so i have a yfz450x 2006 and when its running it will not stay running and when i turn the light on they just sit there and flicker with the idle and then soon after that it will die. any awnsers?

old gas, and weak/near dead, battery ???
Low battery, bad stator, poor jetting ???

Does it die the same with the lights off too? Give us some details of when this started happening, how long its been sitting, if your able to keep it going somehow, etc... then we can help you narrow it down some more.

you might find a answer if you search the YFZ forum, and use the search word "Stator" or "Rectifier".

or just post your question in a thread there with the guys who are better versed on you specific quad.
