look into getting a sportbike or dirtbike shock as long as the eye to eye measurements are close and they bolt up the same way with the same bolt size or similar you may need a spacer or washer here and there or drill bit but it will work the same way and be stiffer. try out some different types if possible take one off your buddys bike to see if it will work on yours so you can order 1. try raptor shocks its a slightly heavier atv and might even be a bit taller? if it fits? i dont know?

you could try a 450 rear with the 400 linkage. it is supposed to be a bit stiffer but still work just as good as the 400 shock. steve

Cute what are we 12 again??? i would put money that him being 270lbs he would eat you alive and $hit you back out, if your gonna talk crap why dont you do it to his face dick. and btw he asked what to do for the rear shock not go on a diet, try paying a little more attention to the post title, if not i hear huked en phoxix for dummies has open classes right now, try it out. have a nice day :) hahaha

As for the shock take a clutch wrench and use a shock compressor and tighten it downward so you can tighten the rings on the rear shock since the stock 400ex shock is a gas shock and that should help, and tighten the screw on the side of the shock to stiffen it up a bit, hope that haelps man, and i hope that guy grow up hahaha.

ya its the same thing basically as a 400ex rear shock a little bigger stiffer spring i beleive, but all stock 450r shocks bolt right up to a 400ex i have em on mine right now.

most people seem to use the 450 linkage along with the shock but it is stiffer with the 400 linkage so you should be good to go to make it a bit harder. I have actually been thinking of picking up a 450 linkage and shock just to see how much of a difference there is. trx is that how yours is set up now and how do you like it. sorry to ask in this one but i suppose it may help some others out who are wondering the same thing. steve

Get your shock re sprung for your weight. And don’t listen to the wise cracks about your weight. I’ve see some rather hefty fellows haul *** and go big on the jumps, and besides 270 is not that bad if your very tall. Even a stock shock that is sprung right will help out quite a bit, but if you do that it may be worth up greading the shock as well. I picked up a good used elka for half of what a new one would run me and had it re done and have been happy with it.

Thank you guys, I can take a crack but it's on a forum and I feel sorry for you if you get ur jollies ripping on people you have never seen . I'm a solid 270 cheif, I bench what I way and i'm 16. Starting offence and defencive tackle.

But anyway, what If I were just to get a 450r spring? Would that work?

if you use the full 450 linkage,it lowers the ride height,i think i used one of the 450 n one off the ex to keep it about the same.john

you are correct. you can use the 400 linkage to maintain the stock ride height and also stiffen the 450 shock up. the 450 linkage makes the shock softer and lowers the ride height about an inch or so. steve

thanks guys.

we lost in the playoffs two years in a row, and this year we won, we got to play in gillette stadium and lost in the super bowl 12-13. our all star QB that signed to harvard broke his ankle 1st quarter and our running back messed up his leg badly we got shut out first half but came back made it 12-13 we went for 2 in the last play of the game and got denied. 2nd time my school has made it to the super bowl, luckily im still a junior and there is next year.
