Hey guys, took my clutch apart when I got a new basket, thanks bill, and I lost the ball bearing that goes between the pushrod and that cap thing with the needle bearings. I looked on service honda and that part isnt available from what I can see. Does anyone have one or will a generic ball bearing work. I assembled the clutch and it didnt even disengage. Too much play that is when i realized the ball bearing was missing.

thanks guys

Huh ?

If you had a single ball bearing it's an '86 (item 28)

If you have the Needle bearing it's an '89 (item 24)

Looks like someone mixed up some parts to rebuild your clutch.

What year is the motor ?

he is talking about part #28 the single ball bearing, i'm sure a generic one would work just fine , but you need to know the size

Regg187.....I know.....but he mentioned the CAP thing with the NEEDLE Bearing......Which would mean an '89 style clutch!

Sounds like somebody mixed & matched different parts.

I think he should tell us what kind of pressure plate he has and the length of his push rod......He should update it to the '89 parts and be done with it.

FYI.....item #28 is a 9/32" Ball bearing....Available at any bearing supplier.

its an 86 motor with an 89 update in it. At least that is what ESR was supposed to put in it when they machined the cases and put it all back together

and the needle bearing i mentioned was onpart 28. It is built in as it has needle bearings on the side that contacts the pressure plate. Not a needle bearing by itself

Ok.....something ain't right......

The needle bearing should be on ITEM #10 as well as a washer (which isn't on the fische but is in the UPDATE KIT)

I have a complete update kit at home......I'll take a pic and Upload it for ya.

What is the length of the PUSH ROD ????

Maybe it was short and ESR used the Ball Bearing to take up the difference.

Hey Bill,

Open the pics in PAINT and save them as .jpg format.

That usually gets them small enough to post!

Here's what an update kit looks like. The Washer with the Needle bearing is PART# 90459-360-000

What Clutch Pressure plate have you got ?

Does it have a defined Circle in the bottom ('89) or does it look like a 5-sided flower ('86-88)

Like these:

This is the '89
