i've just purchased a 01 cr250r (blown up) and was wanting it to feel like it ran off anfo :blah: so is it possible to accomplish with nitromethane? will it blow me up? will it shoot a rod to china? will it overheat? what about the carb? jetting? i know a nerdy rc shop that sells the stuff so i can easily get it. opinions, questions, or concerns?

I'm not an expert on it. But I do know that you will need to re tune, and the o-rings/gaskets in the carburetor will need to be replaced with ones that can withstand nitro.

i dont think i would reccomend it. methanol would work well in that 250 with the right carb setup and motor work. what kinda riding you going to be doing with it?

a fair share of long mud and sand trails and a ton of dirt hillclimbing. i know it's not the most practical using an explosive as fuel but if it can be done to be practical then that's what i'm going for, and let's not say just port it and put a good pipe on it or use high compression ect...it's all about the nitro.

Sell me the 250 and buy a 500. No nitro needed.

i think i'm asking too much since nitromethane is a mystery to most people. what is the next best thing? alcohol? methonal???

Either of the two would be much easier to work with, but I wouldn't count on the bike holding up like it should. In all seriousness, if you need that much power, get a bigger bike. :blah:

ive run a chainsaw engine off nitro before. it reved up really fast. had to mess with the carb alot...the exhaust was cold though even after runnin it for a good 5 mins. deff not practical and prob not to safe. if that engine came apart turnin them rpm's it would have been bad.
