Why would fox put on a piggyback shock...i wonder how much testing they put on it to still end up selling it...the heat from the motor just boils the shock oil.

According to the Fox site you can still get the remote reservoir. But I'm not sure why they would make it into a piggyback. I'm almost sure the piggyback reservoir is on the non exhaust side but I can certainly see what your talking about with the heat. I won't be changing from my Motowoz set up anytime soon.

Cuz that's how dirtbikes have it...

the heat from the engine will not boil the shock oil, the temp near the engine isnt that extreme, if the heat from the engine is 100 degrees, it wont heat the shock oil past that, shock oil is well over 100 degrees from normal shock operation, the fox yfzr shock is piggyback and its fine, alot of rear shocks are piggybacks, ohlins usually were. also like said above, all dirtbike shocks are piggyback and the new yzf is at the exhaust and it doesnt have that much of an effect. it will be fine

I said that it would boil the oil just put into perspective that it gets really hot...i do understand that all dirtbikes have them like this and i would think that dirt bikes would fade but they dont like this shock..
do dirt bikes have guards so that the resevoir doesnt get hot??
and dirtbikes dont have a lot of options to put a resevoir.

i rode with this and my opinion wont be changed but i definately notice fading in the rear....but havent tried it with remote.

The last I knew and was told that the Honda would not be one of the models to get a piggyback rear.

My understanding is that there is not enough room for a piggyback version on the Honda or it would be. I believe it is the same for the LTR as well. Select models are getting the piggyback.

I HAVE THE GEN II ON MY LTR WITH THE PIGGYBACK RES I HAVE NOT HAD ALOT OF SEAT TIME SINCE I PUT THEM ON DUE TO THE WEATHER BUT THEY SEAM TO WORK JUST THE SAME AS THE FIRST GEN SHOCKS I HAVE ON MY PRACTICE BIKE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WITH THE PIGGY BACK SHOCK WAS TRYING TO INSTALL IT ON THE LTR THAT IS VERY TIGHT TO WORK ON TO BEGIN WITH AND TO MY UNDERSTANDING THE PIGGYBACK SHOCK WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE FOR THE LTR AND THE POLARIS.
