Im selling my Itouch on craigslist locally, asking 150 dollars pickup. So today a lady emailed me, asking if i would take 200 via paypal(with a verrified account) if i could ship it to her son out of state, using her fedex account..

Does this seem sketchy to anyone? I've been asking questions consistantly trying to bring out a bit more information, because i really dont want to deal with paypal issues and all of that crap.

Isn't the deal with paypal now, paypal holds the cash, until the package is accepted by the buyer, or the postage code is provided or something?

It's a scam. I have had it happen to me.

If you agree, (which i did to see what happens) they have a fake email, which they have disguised as "PayPal" so you don't see the real email address and so you think it's really PayPal.

They literally copy a PayPal page and make it look exactly like they sent you the payment, but it's not really paypal, it's an email they created to look like it's from paypal.

You ship it out, and realize when you log onto paypal that nothing is in there.

Wah-lah it worked.

yea, ive been messing with the guy just for poops and giggles. i sent him my actual paypal email, but the guy never responded, im not shipping my ipod out, and as you said DMC, nothing in paypal.

I may be a tad gullible, but i know to go to the actual pay pal website and check my accounts, before i ship out anything :p

hahaha yeah I always screw with those guys.

There was a different type of scammer a while back I messed with, and I kept insulting his scamming and saying my mom could scam better then you. I was ripping him up so bad it was hilarious. He got PISSED.

I wont try to scam you with a phony paypal payment.

I'll gladly send you over $200 worth of computer generated 50% off coupons to your local minature golf course.

I'll PM my address to you, and you can go ahead and get it shipped out to me.

BTW- I'd really appreciate it if you could send it overnight shipping.

Thanks !

when they first emailed you did they say-
" is the item still available''

That is the first sign that it is a scam;)

:p the guy emailed me the fake paypal page, and now it says he's from nigeria and he mysteriously included and extra 50 dollars for "shipping charges"

im just not going to answer the guy, i check my paypal and nothing has been sent there. If anything i feel like reporting this guy, but i dont know if its worth it haha

Yeah that's copyright. I was going to report my scammer to PayPal but never got around to it.

copy right and fraud. He said he lives in new york first of all, then he's copying paypals page.

dunno if he could be penalized for fraud though, im not gunna bother with this bum. Im just hoping i dont hear anything else from him, if i do then he's getting reported :p
