XXX what color orange did you use on the frame?
Jim, every part is on the workbench and every nut and bolt will be in it's own ziplock bag and labeled.
We will probably sandblast all the parts this weekend and hopefully all the powdercoating will be done by next weekend. Then I can start putting it back together, less the front shocks, they need to go to Elka to get rebuilt unless someone knows of a local person who will rebuild them and set them up for Tyler.

Decided to go with orange on the frame.

tyler70t
02-13-2010, 05:59 AM
Put the Trackside back on but I have noticed that if I make a mount fo the inside of the back grab bar the pipe has more clearance from the frame under the motor. HMM????

Coley'sdad#8
02-13-2010, 07:14 AM
yeah , the trackside comes with NOTHING. you have to get springs, make silencer hanger and i had to make correct exhaust flange to fit it. not a complete sale IMO.

tyler70t
02-14-2010, 11:26 AM
OK the panic button has now been hit. We went the awards banquet last night and got this year's schedule..............March 7th is the first race...........Gotta get moving on this !!!

Trackside pipe was designed for the Apex, if you have an apex you have everything needed to run the pipe.

02-14-2010, 12:41 PM
so you go buy a new propane barbecue grill, get it home and discover the regulator and the wheels are not with it. you call grill mfg and they say " this grill was marketed for people that already had this brand gas grill and you are supposed to re-use the old regulator and wheels because they should still be good.:D
Mars I understand what your saying but in my opinion if your going to sell something like that make it a complete package, specifically the exhaust flange because the wrong size could kill performance you designed pipe for.

tyler70t
02-14-2010, 01:33 PM
I am not saying anything bad about my Trackside, we love the pipe. Just that I discovered I can get more clearance from the frame below the motor if I mount it on the inside of the grab bar as to the outside. This is actually going to be a really easy thing to change.

marsrace2
02-14-2010, 01:42 PM
Yep, we mounted it that way a while back on our Apex also, really does give it more clearance.

To the other guy on the pipe your analogy is way off, but doesnt matter to me. I was just posting what I know of the pipe. It was built specifically for Apex Quads as a bolt on replacement to the Apex pipe.

20 days to go and a foot of ice and snow on the
ground. Looks the same as last year where
weather was a problem as well. Get those mud tires mounted, it's time again.

The great pumpkin is almost ready to get dirty.lol

What do ya think about painting the bars orange
could look cool

jerkyboy
02-18-2010, 06:40 AM
Jim I don't see Kevin being able to do anything with the track.
The ground is still frozen. Not to overlook the 12" of snow still on the ground. As it thows it will be a sloppy mess, Can't see him
being ready for 3/6-7.

Hey mike,

there Is ice everywhere by me and
it's not going anywhere soon. I guess I figured
jeff could peak his head over the fence.

The first race from last year was cancelled
due to ice as well.

We are all looking forward to this season, but
we need some warmer weather quick.

Otherwise it's mud boggin time for sure.

Tell Dale, Brandon said hi.

I am done putting this quad back together now. What a job that was. Now we will start tuning.
Yes the nets were made right here at the house for a grand total of 14.99.
Still 19"'s up front but shopping for 20"s.
I'm sure there are going to be plenty of adjustments to make but I can now breathe a sigh of relief........no extra nuts or bolts!!!!!!!!!!!!
