Would +2 or +3 a arms work best?
I run a lot at the dunes jumping A LOT!
and mx a lil bit to but mostly just dunes and i
run a little bit of trails to but what would work
best and do i need to get +1 forward or not?

One more thing is do i need to get
a longer swingarm? Im not a freestyle master but
I do jump pretty well.
I have a 2005 Honda 450r.

+3 a arms with 4:1 rims

Stock 2006+ swingarm with aftermarket linkage

That's what I've got and I'm more than happy

Alright what do you mean by a 4:1 rim?

thats the offset, 4 inches inside and 1 inch out side, with a +3 arm you will still be under 50 inches. you will prob get a little better handeling/ cornering

with 4:1 rims you feel less bumpsteer because of the rims position over the ball joints. Blainekaiser has it right go for a 2006+ swinger and aftermarket link for a little more length.. it will also help for traction if you like to drag at the dunes..

And don't do +1 forward, just causes the steering to push more. And these bikes are long enough to be plenty stable.
Plus the longer wheelbase won't feel as nimble in the turns.
I'd only do it if I was riding desert.

If your doing LT my vote is for the +3 with the 4:1 wheels like said above.
If you going ST I'd recommend +2, I personally don't like the longer arms with such short shocks. The shock mount is so far in on the arm and puts a lot of stress on the middle of the arm. A friend of mine had his arms bend in the middle where the shock mount is because of this, just from normal riding.
Plus it just looks bad with so much arm sticking out beyond the shock on some setups

If they don't have them listed on the site, call, they can order u anything.
Also KandKatv.com

Last time I looked the larger sites like Rockymountain and Motorsport don't carry 4:1's, only 3:2's. That was a while ago tho.

I recommend Hiper rims since you like jumping and mx.

Ok so I'm lookin at ldoin more freestyle dune riding and mx just for fun. What kind of a arms are better for that? Standard or long travel? Also what brand of shocks would b best?

well the type and brand of a-arms and shocks are all up to your budget. The more you want to spend the better the front end you can get. If your looking to save i would just buy some ST a-arms +2 and revalve your shocks and get a matching GT link or something like that. If your looking to spend $6000 you can get a full walsh/jb front end and swinger along with some fox, axis, PEP, motowoz, elka, or ohlins shocks. When setup properly all these setups are sure to make you happy.
