6 speed on a 400ex?

He said it was a 6 speed in the ad I messaged him about it and he still claims its a 6 speed???

it can't be possible. i've never heard of a 6 speed 400

it might be possible that he means 6 speed if he is counting reverse as a "speed"....just a thought

Can't be, I thought they didn't start putting reverse on them till '04. Besides he said in the ad it didn't have reverse.

05 was the first year to have reverse.There is no way that thing can have a 6 speed. He must be counting neutral as a gear.Lol

there is a compney called http://www.f.a.s.tracing.com that does it for $525 bux if u want to spend that kind of money on a 6th gear and u have to send just the tranny

thats cool and all but i dont think a 400 would do good with another gear, they almost have trouble stock pulling themselves to the max now. once you make them more powerful then you can achieve more speed with just $20 or so in sprockets. the question is do they redo all the gears to make it be able to hold power with a 6th or do they just add on another gear gain only on topend?

if you slightly dropped the gain in every gear you could add a 6th without problem but i just dont think even a built 440 stroker would have enough power for another full gear on the top like that. this is a torque motor not made for hi speed.

dont know about all that...i have a the 440 kit and feels like it needs another gear. i'm always trying to shift up again while in 5th when i'm not paying attention, only to be disapointed that im already in 5th :rolleyes:
