I didn't know, I thought the oulaw and predator was both a 500.

they don't make the predator anymore, and the outlaw has 3 models: 525 irs, 525 solid axle, and 450 solid axle. all of which are using ktm motors still

I like the Outlaws a lot and have done real well racing them for the past 3 years. But as of now, Polaris has not shown there real serious about racing by going after the big names in the top 5 in any racing series. So I would guess it's a rumor. Where did you hear it from?

Joe's been crying for a factory ride for so many years now I think he'd take one from Kymco. :D

If they were more serious about getting involved with racing I think they would be redesiging the Predator more, frame up. Shame, it's at least an American company, not many of those left anymore.

The 450 polaris MXR bikes are pretty damn sweet.

Who is Joe Bryd?

I've heard of Joe Byrd :blah:

Joe had a full factory ride from honda just no semi. Honda paid for him and Upperman to do all the nationals and expenses for parts and the bikes.

Honda didn't have a "factory team" all the riders were riding for American Honda. They give them full support, but Honda doesn't consider them as factory riders like Suzuki, Can-Am, and the others used to.

he got paid, and got bikes for free. what part of that isnt factory?

beastlywarrior

I wish Polaris would make a proper racing quad. Like looked at the the Jap 450s for inspiration. It would be cool to ride an American quad.

The new MXR with some gussets and the usuals could run in there definitly.

Talking from the ground up. They have made significant improvements over the years and the Predator always was a good, solid trail bike but in comparision, it needs to step it up quite a bit to try and be on par with the new breed of race bikes. The KTM engine was a major step forward, now bring the rest up to par, in fact, how about some innovation unseen to the sport, do something American the right way instead of a 2wd trail couch. I will give Polaris a ton of credit for having the cahonas to make the Predator with IRS.

I think a whole lot of this rumor mill of Joe Byrd riding a Polaris is from the fact that he will be running Rath products instead of Pro Armour.

For those of you that keep up on the forums and don't go to the Nationals, Polaris did have a Pro rider (Mitch Reynolds) and a Pro-am rider (Landon Hurst) last year. Mitch for undisclosed reasons, decided to retire early on in the year, Landon was injured in a dirt bike accident about mid-season.

Instead of dropping out Polaris sent Rath to locate another rider. This is where Casey fell into the picture. (Casey Martin). The Polaris (Outlaw 450) had some decent finishes last year but also had some motor issues. As most know, with any new quad, there are issues that have to be worked out. The Polaris/Rath team have worked hard, even during the off season to work out all the bugs and are striving to hit the podium EVERYTIME this year.

I think some people will be surprised.

What about Aaron meyer? Was he not factory back by them? Or did he just choose to ride Polaris?

Aaron rode for Southside last year and was on a Polaris. He had to run the Northeast series and the Nationals that he had an open date on.

Oh ok well that makes sense. I wasn't 100% sure what his deal was.

he was basically the equivalent of the higher up kawi satellite riders, he had backing from polaris themselves but not everything was paid but the team he was riding for provided what wasn't by polaris. polaris has an awesome contingency program this year and if you do a search for southside polaris and talk to them or talk to the guys over at motorsportzvisionz.com they are doing some pretty cool packages on new bikes.

Here is Jarrod McClures 2010 outlaw. Very sweet looking. I believe he will be racing the WORCS this weekend also. Polaris needs tho to land a big name racer and back them fully. Not give them quads and do the rest themselves like there other racers.

i cant stand the way the new outlaws look. i love the older ones. I have also read that the 450 motor cant withstand too much extra horsepower being shoved down its throat.:ermm:

lies, if you push the limits of course things will break but this motor can stand any of the normal mods most racers do.

I haven't ridden one of the new outlaws but I rode one a few years ago and the ergos were awful. I don't see how anybody can ride one.
