Just finished going thru the bike after a long MX season. The bike held up very well as far as things breaking considering we hadn't done anything but gusset the frame. After tearing it down I found the stock arms seperating at the welds on the bottom. If you're going to MX these they should be checked often. My plan was to replace them with top mount arms but our suspension is too long to use the top mount setup. So we had to have the stock arms rewelded and will be checked after every race. The rear swinger began cracking at the shock mount and on the bottom of that brace as well. I added another brace in the middle for more support and it looks alot stronger. The axle bearings had taken a dump and I replaced those with Russ' (Hondo) setup. His bearing carriers are alot nicer and much easier to adjust. We'll see if these are the last bearings we'll have to replace Big Russ ;) . The front hub bearings were replaced as they began to have play and were upgraded with stronger bearings. I also had the stock stem welded together to make it one piece. These were the things that needed to be done to the bike after 13 MX races (2motos each race), practice time before each race, and countless hours of practice days at home or at the track.

The new and improved Typhoon will have the same powerplant (Lifan 150) with my portwork and hc piston (Big difference in power):eek2: . We took off the non adjustable Elkas and replaced those with Fully adjustables in the front and will be getting one soon in the rear. He wanted to change his # to 8 and get different graphics and handguards.

After cracking the swinger in two places this is the mod I had done to it. Center brace for alot more support on landings.

Did, but don't really have to time to do the modding to it with all the chaos of the motor work and putting the bike back together. Was much easier for me at this point to go with the stock one. This thing is 3-4pds heavier than the tag so will surely have to make the swap.

Bike looks awesome.

Brake update :

My friend used brakes off a Honda 250, but, he had to do heavy modification and could not use the rear brake pedal. He used only a hand brake.
I am addressing this for the MX crowd. I am making a new brake stop that will hold a complete new setup. I will keep you posted.

Thanx Russ, as of now we're only running front brakes as well. He really doesn't use the rears but still would like to have them just in case...
