well we all been sitting arround the house today with the doors locked and the rifle loaded but a man went crazy and has done shot 8 and killed 8 people. they just posted on the news they still cant find him they been looking since 12:00 today and still havent got him. hes hiding in the woods with NVG and an Ak-47 assault rifle. he has shot down a police helicoptor and everything its really crazy here is the news story

i think police's number one problem is they said they are trying to arrest this man. apparently this man knows that if he goes to jail hes going to be there for a long time. i think the situation would have been ended a long time ago if they would have brought the trained snipers and picked his *** off from a few hundred yards away. its a really scarey situation because nobody knows what hes going to do. hes an EX marine trained in tactics and things to that extent. hes in the woods holding his position with night vision goggles and an ak-47 assault rifle. he might be having serious flash backs and things to that extent

just incase anybody dont know appomattox, va is a small town area. mostly everybody grew up with everybody. if you were driving thru va and you came upon a sigh that said appomattox and you closed your eyes and sneezed you would drive right thru appomattox and concord, va. i live in concord which i mapquested the distance from the areas of the shootings to my house its 6 miles which is too close for comfort. honestly if he was to walk to my door now and try to get in idk if i could stop him. he is a trained marine with a semi automatic rifle and im just a good ol country boy with a gun.

i believe it might make national headlines in the morning after hopefully everything is taken care of.

i can truely say that my area was not prepared for this kind of horrific event like some other big crime areas are. i believe if it was some other high crime neighborhood this guy would have been history a long time ago because they would have brought in the specialist. took him down and all these cops would have been home for dinner tonight. but hell this is appomattox, va the most illeagle thing that is probally ever done arround here is the rednecks spot lighting.

there are 2 counties of cops after him over 100 police officers and this man still hasnt been brought to justice.

if it were in Florida I guarantee the guy would look like swiss cheese. They act fast and dont take **** like that here. They put something like 67 shots in the one guy before haha it was awesome, he litterally did look like swiss cheese.

if it would have been me i woulda been out there with a 300 win mag or a .50 cal and he woulda been pushing up daiseys already. our area is truely not trained for things in this matter being as they have never had to deal with it before. i mean it truely is a small town.

they say on the news they have him "surrounded" imo there is no surrounding a guy like that. they are forgetting they are in his territory nobody knows that area like him. imo i believe they are playing his game now and the games aint gonna stop until they put him out of our misery. its hard to beat a man at his own game. and hard to beat a man in his own territory. this guy is costing the state of va tons of money. all the specialist that had to be brought in from richmond and other areas. all the cops and deputys involved. and flying the helicopter aint cheap by no means either.

this man made his decision early this morning. i believe its time for the officers to shyt or get off the pot because i believe taking him alive isnt going to be an option.

depends where ya live, my township doesnt have police so theres at minimum a 20 minute wait, but i live out in the sticks. our first line of defense is a 12 guage and 2 mean dogs, second line of defense is a 45.

but most people do have the luxury of police

I got my chit on lockdown.. I have a sensor at the end of the driveway the rings the doorbell when somone drives through it (wal-mart) I have 2 wireless security cameras that are hooked to my tv ($80 at future shop) and I have an alarm system, 2 12 guages, 1 sawed off 10 guage and a british 303 ready to rock.....cuz I may or may not have something illegal growing in my basement;)

they caught the SOB. im glad its all over with i can breathe a little easier now. i guess sitting outside all night in the cold he got to thinking about his decisions. im sure if he hadnt turned himself in by morning the officers probally would have went in full breach and put an end to this thing w/ no more casualties.

i will say im glad he did turn himself in atleast he can tell his story on what caused him to do this horrific event

i also will say VA has the death penalty and will use it. i hope he fries as bad as it is to say

At least they can aim. Around here cops must shoot with there eyes closed. My friends cuz didn't want to stop for the cops so a bunch got behind him. He finally stopped and got out with his cell phone in his hand and got something like 75 rounds shot at him and only a few hit him which killed him and in the process 2 bullets ended up hitting a drunk illegal Mexican sitting out side lmao.

more updates he was claimed to be a little crazy anyways. then his mother passed a year ago of brain cancer. this man had this planned this wont just an accidental thing. he had bullet proof vest on, they said he had an arsenal of weapons, he even had his own bunker. im glad they took him alive atleast he can tell his story. with everybody dead then it woulda been just a big question mark on the reasoning.

He was wearing a black sweat shirt and camouflage pants when authorities put him in a sheriff's car at state police headquarters later. Police say he has been cooperative. He was taken to Appomattox Regional Jail. No charges have been filed.

Staples says Speight was co-owner of the house where the murders occurred. He also owns a large piece of land adjoining to the home.

Police are spending today combing through the crime scene, trying to identify the victims, and notifying family members.

Staples says authorities still don't know the motive for the shootings or how the victims and shooter were related.

yea he wasnt stupid. he knew if he would have walked out of the woods with a gun in his hand his *** would have been taken out like yesterdays garbage. its such a shame that so many innocent lives were taken. esp the ones of the young. from what stories have been floating arround the community there was a man, woman, 2 teenage girls, 1 teenage boy, and 3 todler children in young ages within the 2-5 age range

the man and woman were husband and wife which were his brother-in-law and sister. one of the girls killed was his niece, the other girl killed was his niece's friend. the young boy killed was his niece's boyfriend who ran and died in the hospital. and 3 more todler children that were also his kin too.

i really can not imagine what the parents of the 2 innocent children are feeling like knowing that their children went over to this girls house on a day of no school maybe to hang out and what not only to be killed for no reason.

please keep the families of those who were killed in your thoughts and prayers as this is a small community and is really effecting alot of people.

we have had every news crew arround today from CNBC, CNN and everything this is such a tragic event. i hold back tears thinking about it. such a foul world we live in today. you never know when you may take your last breath so cherrish your time here and make the best of it with your loved ones.

with this happening so close to home i plan on getting me some more weapons for my house to protect myself and my family because you never know when somebody might get a screw loose again and go on a rampage again. i hope it never happens to my family but i atleast want to have the abilty and the equipment(guns) to attempt to stop an attack on my home and family

i was just going by what i heard. but ther was a 4 year old boy killed.

im still deeply moved by this horrific event. who gave this man the right to play god and take lives. its such a shame.

i been fallowing this story really closely. he hasnt even been charged but for 1 death. the reason they havent charged him for the other murders is because they can not find the gun. they also said on the news that he has prior history of mental problems. he was locked up in a mental ward in atlanta, Ga back in 2007 for a whole year. news also says that he also has learning disabilities too.
