I was wondering if anyone has these tires or has seen them out on the trails. I ordered a set of 20-11-9s and they are on their way, they were different from your average holeshots and razrs and looked like they had some good cleaning capability too. Any comments would be appreciated.

They are 6 ply wich means they might be heavy. If i figure out how to paste a picture i will asap.

i'm most likely going to get a set of the kenda klaw rears in 18x10.5x8. they look like a good tire.

I have a set, but I have only ridden on them in the snow. They do clean well. They are no heavier than my 4 ply Shredders.

I was talking to Jonny Hale while on the gate waiting to race a few months ago (before he screwed up his leg) and asked him about them. He said they hook up like a mutha and seem to slide nearly as well as grooved Tamers! Also, I believe Dirtwheels did a review on them in the most recent issue,so you might check that out as well.

i just read the article in dirt wheels about them and they said they are the best MX tires they have tested in the last year. they said the front and back are both great. now i have to decide to go with the Klaw fronts too, or go with the Razr MX fronts. i think i'll probly go with the klaws up front too.

any of you runnin them in XC?

Are they any good in the mud or slop?

I hope they hook up better than the desert dogs or Knarly or what ever they are now.

Hey DS-650 nice quad, Did you pick out those tires yourself??

Yep Kenda Klaws are finding their way all around on the new Dale. The only tire for me, full season with no flats or pulled tires is reason enough for me. Great hookup in every condition, reverseable for slop and loose stuff, with predictable sliding!!

PS the tires on DS-650's quad are over a year old, and look like new. (It is my old quad from XC last year)

A good friend picked them out for me, and even put them on my quad.

dirtwheels really makes it sound like these tires are for mx...i run pure cross county...im fixin to purchase either the klaw or knarly...the knarly is the other new kenda tire....which one would be best for a 300ex?

thank you all very much for the information and consideration . i got the tires on yesterday and used them at Crooms, meaning they went throught a vigorous test of mud rocks hard pack sand and everything in between. They hooked up exelently and slid around corners very well. They have a good bite, not constant wheelies ,but they hooked up very well.. i would recomend the tires to anyone.

And for XC racing im sure you would not be dissapointed.

Ok I'm thinkin the stock tires are looking alittle wore out on the 400, but I'm not a racer and don't want to drop to 18's do the 20 inch Klaws work just as well?

I have 20s on my quad in the earler pick, they work real nice.

can you compare to razr's or holeshots?

i just order some knarly 20x11x9 6 ply's.......ill let you guys know how they do when i get em on

01-28-2003, 12:59 PM
If you ride a lot of hard pack and real rough terrain you are gonna like the knarly.

Where it has some small issues is in loom and just regular trail conditions. Its not real bad and should depend on how much HP your machine has but on mine they do spin a little more than I would like.

They are deff tough and will last a long time and shouldnt have any problems with punctures.

I have them on for over a year and at the same time a friend got razr's and the razr wore at least twice as fast. There is still plenty of thread on both but the knarly (I have the desert dog before they changed the name) is hard to tell its worn at all, and not one flat in over a year.

well im gonna be running harescrambles all this summer...and i dont want to have to buy tires again til this time next year so that will be good...id say mine will hook up good...ill be with a 300ex motor and u have a 440....thats what i liked about my holeshot 4 ply was it hooked up good in the loose....but i tore them all apart they werrent tough enough

01-28-2003, 10:13 PM
Unless they changed them you wont be tearing these up, and should last a lot longer than the holeshots for sure.
