My Truck Repair thread

well as some may know a steel carport fell on my truck the last snow we got back in dec. now almost a month later after fighting with insurance and sitting arround waiting for the holidays to pass by so insurance could come estimate the damage to the truck. i finally got her in the body shop the 5th of jan. and here are pics from the truck from then clean up til now

flamers please stay away. i will delete my own thread if i have2 aint much on bs just sharing photos of my truck bein repaired and repainted

5235 dollars in estimated damage done to the truck.

i went down there and told him i wanted the whole truck repainted so after he worked that left side he got started on the right side

went down there a day later and helped him take the rear bumper off and took some more pics of the progress

the 15th the new glasses went back in and the original backglass went back in too. he primed her the previous night and wetsanded that evening

he painted her over the weekend and it looks really good. only thing that is holding it up now is the cowl hood. i got the tailgate but hes waiting to spray both the tailgate and hood at the same time. i think this truck turned out really good.

Just me or did you have it painted darker than factory? Looks good man. I personally would leave the bedside clean without the stickers.

naw its the same colors


thanks baker. yea i plan on detailing the whole truck after paint. i can give her a good wash job but i can not wax it yet. but i do plan on cleaning her up really good

it does look a little darker but i think thats just the way the ground is reflecting in the new paint. i know he went with the OEM color codes

Came out pretty darn good. I like that factory two tone a lot too. Looks sharp!

I gotta agree with the other guys though, leave the stickers off! Looks killer the way it is!

Or if you really wanted to put the stickers on, get them custom made to a different color, like the two tone color, that red is really going to throw it off IMO.

to answer all questions. im running a 6 inch bds suspension lift, 3 inch body, and 37x13.50x16.5 baja klaw on 16.5x12 weld racing wheels. i am however selling the wheels and tires off the truck and going with a set of 20x10 chrome wheels with super swamper iroks

far as mods to the truck only mods are a cold air intake, straight pipes, removed all the body molding and badges except for the 1500 logo and the mods listed above. thanks for the comments i love my truck.

yea i could have went with a stock hood and saved money but ive always been drooling over a cowl induction hood for the truck ever since i bought it. now i finally got one.

chevy 2 tone always looks sweet on trucks, and that color scheme is awesome together. and i say slap the decals on the bed side, i love sporting the fact that i have a z.

different carport. this is a brand new one. that is snow load rated.

if you can see clearly this thing is cross braced really good. its cross braced in the corners. they anchored it in the ground 3 foot and even used mobile home anchors and screwed them down in the ground and bolted the carport to that. ours wasnt in no way put together as good as this building is. its T braced in the arch of the truss. our old 1 was not. and its got bracing in the corners of the building between the legs and roof truss

lets see i just spent 5,000 dollars on having my trucks body reworked and repainted. and its still fresh paint. im not taking the risk of messing the paint up. sorry you can think what you want to but if u just shelled out 5 grand for a new paintjob ud probally be a little *****y about it too

no no different carport. this one is built better and stronger. and anchored in the ground. this one is snow load rated upto 3ft of snow and 100mph winds. the other 1 we had wasnt snow load rated at all

Sick wheels, american racing trax i believe. They are discontinued i bet you got a great deal. My buddy just got the teflon coated ones in 22x11 for his Titan. They are very sick wheels.

i got a pretty good deal on them imo. i got them for 840 shipped.


the tire and wheel combo is gonna look good on my truck im going with them wheels 20x10 and a 36x13.50 super swamper irok radial. im going with a 1 inch shorter tire then what i been running but i still think the truck will look even better then what it did before
