Hello all, I recently got an 04 450r real cheap and am now wandering if I may be to small for this machine. I am 6' tall and weigh 155lbs. This is my first quad and don't really know anything about them, but figured what the heck.
Thanks in advance

I am 6'1 and 135 pounds, and It's great for me. When I first got it I was 12 years old, 5'4 and 100 pounds and it was a little big, but I never got into any real trouble with it. You will be perfectly fine.

I'm 6' 150lb and its perfect for me.
YFZs and KFX's are too small for me, I hit my knees on the front fenders and all when leaning.

6 foot is definitly not small. Actually on the taller side. 450rs fit taller people better than the other 450s

My only concern is you say this is your first quad.. You WILL have problems then.. I would not recommend a 450r to anyone as a first quad, unless you've owned a thumper dirtbike and know how to ride... Get a 400ex or something to learn how to ride first, and to learn basic maintenance procedures. The 450 is alot of bike if you have no prior experience with riding or maintenance..

.. and the simple fact that you are not confident in yourself, because you're asking people that don't even know anything about you, kind of scares me. I got a 400ex fully extended, pretty stock motor up for trade if you'd like!

Throttle works both ways, My friends little brother used to ride my 450r he was 12 about 100 lbs wet and he used to rip!

Yeah really. lol
Quads are pretty stable anyway, its not like ur jumping on a 500cc 2 stroke dirtbike with a quarter turn twist.

The 400ex and R both have similar top speed, so if ur guna kill ur self going fast, both bikes will get the job done there.

My first quad was a 400ex and realized it was underpowered with in the first week I owned it. Few weeks later I traded it back in for an 05 R and never looked back.

I'd never tell someone to not make the R their first quad, unless maybe they didn't know how to use their thumb.

I've seen little twig like 12 year olds ripping R's through the pits.
One of my friends was 13 when he had a 55HP R.
