after years of wanting one i was able to finally found one that i liked. now the only question i have for now is. the guy told me it was an 89 model, but i was lookin and its got the 86-87 front a arms. dosent have the sticker on the frame to tell. so is there any easy ways to tell what year R i actually have now?? thanks

thanks man ^^ gotta see how it compares to the 450r now lol. it needs some work on the small things and gotta start puttin parts on it lol..any idea's on what i should start workin on FIRST?

It looks like a 88-89 frame..but I need closer pic's to tell for sure. Looks good..I was thinking about picking it up.

It's hard to say from the pics, but it looks like an early front end. If it's an early frame as well, it looks like an '87 from the motor mounts, but I'd need to see more closely.

Even if it is an early R, you've got Axis shocks and a Pro-X (?) cylinder. As long as it's not ragged out, it should be a solid quad.

cool man we should meet up one day and i can let you look over it some and fill me in on some info. dont guess it really matters what year it is, just the point that i was told its an 89 and i dunno if it is or not. what are some closer pics that you guys needing? but yea i ended up no gettin the Axis shocks, the guy wanted to keep them and i said i would just put my stock 450r shocks on there so oh well...

is the front of the swingarm a solid tube going across, or is it split with a motor mount also on the pivot bolt? are the grab bar bolts spaced 2" apart? or further?

like he said is the swing-arm solid or does it run through the back of the motor and if you are real curious the rod on the older R's are shorter or and are in a different position on the crank i believe
