man i been lookin on the net at these things for days trying to decide on a set. i'm really not looking to spend $200 or more and would like to keep my stock heel guards for now. i was lookin into the tusk comp series and the motorsport products brand because of the red netting option that would match my quad and they are cheap. the only other brand i saw offer red netting is the dg's and i dont like the looks or price lol.
i really like the tusk's. has anyone used these on an 01 400ex? and will they fit with my stock heel guards? i know i shouldn't go mainly for looks but i'm just a moderate trail rider.

the tusks are sold at rocky mountain and show's a pic of them installed with a newer model 400ex w/ stock heel gaurds... but they are sold out till march...found the same pair on ebay but the seller says they will not work with the factory heel gaurds???

should i jus splurge on some pro armor w/heel gaurds???

i'm driving myself crazy over this lollol please help me decide!

I just got mine about two weeks ago, they fit and look good. they they are going to do the job just fine.

i know u said your not lookin to change your stock heel gards but for 177 and free shipping on ebay the tusk pro peg style nerfs is a real deal i just put mine on 2 days ago and they are great

Can someone post a picture of their 400ex with the Tusk Pro Peg nerfs installed? I was thinking about them for my '05 but would like to see what they look like.

i have put tusk comp nerf bars on my friends 05 400ex and they do fit with the stock heel guard will a lil modifactions and some drilling. it will work and i wouldnt see why the wouldn't for the older body style since that has nothing to do with the heel guards.

would be nice to see an actual pic of these things on a 400ex with the stock heel guards...i did the search but none had heel gaurds.

I went with ProArmor and got em on a deal from ProArmor b/c the black have been discontinued, and if you call them right now, you might get lucky and they still have a set left. IIRC I paid about $270 plus shipping. They went on easily enough, aside from the fat pegs separator bars which just didn't make sense but I love the fat bar pegs!

those pro armor look and match great on that bike rcwells. i visioned that dominator bumber to be larger than it is...makin me rethink the one i'm about to get. nice set up
