i have a 05 450 yoshi full system, hcr needle and jet kit, airbox lid removed and one less tooth on my countershaft sprocket. where i ride is TIGHT single track. looking for a little more bottom end didnt know what cam to go with or if i had a different option? another question is handling. i hated this quad compared to my ol 400ex till i got duel rate springs from gt thunder and added a steering stab. and turned rebound all the way down any other handling tricks out there?

Naw i'd look into the 02 crf cam. The hrc is more of a top end cam. I went from a stock to the 02 crf and I could drastically feel the bottom end difference, much more. I think u'd be happy with that if your looking for bottom end

Yup.
Either a 2002CRF, 2004-2006CRF, 2006-2006 HRC, or a Hotcams Stage1.

All low-mid range feeling.

Here is a copy of the cam infromation posted over on the org by Sredish.

The Honda, and Hot cams are drop in cams which mean you can swap them out with out changing anything else. With the Megacycle and WEB cams you may need to change valve springs, cut valve guides, cut valve reliefs in the top of your piston depending on which one you choose.

I am a huge fan of low end power and lugging it and just having it rip up from low RPM's.

I used the hotcam stage 1 for quite a while, and with just a filter/exhaust and this cam, the bottom end was unbelievable. It would pull 3rd gear out of very tight corners on the MX track with stock gearing and 18" rear tires. I LOVED it.

I put the HRC cam in the following year and bumped compression up. I never liked it after that. I dont think I went up enough in compression to get that snap I had with the stage 1. The only way I ever got it back was when we did a 14:1 piston and a stage 3 hotcam, but then it was more than a handful in the woods.

I would do stage 1 hotcam or the 02 CRF (very similar) if it was me...

If after all this, you're still looking for more, go ride a YFZ around, then get back on your Honda and you'll realize just how good your bottom end is.:D
