So I got a deal ($1.00/gallon) on a 55gallon drum of VP late model plus, it's 118octane and the same fuel a lot of the score/Baja trucks runs.

I run it mixed about 50/50 in my ds650 and things are great... There won't be problems on the ds450 will there?

No need for it, but it will run fine, may actually run slightly cooler.

Different octanes require different ignition timings. I think the higher octane burns slower.

The higher the octane is, the hicher compression will be. The octane just retarding your explosion to augment your compression.

With the injection on the 450, the ECM will all adjust thaht!

your compression will not change at all with different gas, Compression Ratio is part of the engine, nothing outside of the engine has an effect on that, the higher octane will resist detonation, thats all that race fuel is meant for unless it is oxygenated. if you are not running a high compression or advanced timing then race gas is unneccesary. but if you got it for 1$ a gal and it worked fine mixed then go for it since its cheaper then reg gas.
