If that's $5900.00 out the door then that's a damn good deal. Is it a kfx or kxf ? Quad I am guessing.

Yes, that is a good price "out the door".
It's a good trail quad as-is... especially if you ride more open and faster trails.
You can have fun with it as-is "playing" on an mx track also.
If you want to get way serious, every quad needs modding.
The main things you will have to add right off the bat are.... aluminum skids to replace the plastic ones... and some pegs/nerfs/heel guards.

Just buy it and ride it a while as-is.
It's a fast powerful bike that comes on quick and pulls hard.
It just winds up a little quick stock is all.
Good and bad.
Good that it winds up quick.
Bad that you don't realize there is a lot more in it until mods.
Stock, you can remove the air box lid, and you can take out the spark arrestor insert. But you will have to leave the end cap off unless you want it to be really loud and poppy sounding. The spark arrestor has the actual exhaust tip on the end of it... well you just have to take one apart to see what I mean.
Once you really get ready to mod, go ahead and do good aftermarket tires first. This will help getting your stock power to the ground... and do the same for your mod power. The stock tires are not terrible for stockers... but do not have the bite you need.
For exhaust, do a Jardine RT99 full exhaust system. It's a $610 system, but worth it... and I know where you can get it for 40% off as well. So the cost is very little more than a slip-on.
The Jardine RT99 system is the one system that is just as powerful as full race exhaust.... but at below 99dB so it is not deafening. Even race pipes are being restricted to this in a lot of events, but their power is cut below the Jardine with the quiet cores and so forth.
Also, a lot of people have done slip-ons only to have their stock titanium head pipe crack afterwards. (not simple to weld at all)
I can run my Jardine RT99 with no spark arrestor and no air box lid, and I am still OK on the air/fuel ratio. The stock map is pretty rich, or mine is anyways. I'm still on the rich side from the appearance of my plug.
The next step is an intake system... and at that point a fuel controller will also be needed.
Myself, I am pretty happy with it where I am at.... and I am glad I put the $610 exhaust on first instead of doing the intake and fuel controller for the same money. So I think it's a total no-brainer at 40% off. Bolt one thing on and done... v/s 2 things and the tuning headache.

Well, I haven't ridden a 250r in a while.
But I'm pretty sure my KFX is faster than my 250r was.
By that I mean 'all around' quicker.
Really not sure on a long straight run.
The KFX top speed is not really high stock.
As far as the Raptor.... well the 700's are FAST... The Raptor 700R and the KFX 700.
I have not raced my KFX 450R against a Raptor. But I can tell you this... I did race one with my built YFZ450. Ran off, ran out of gear, and got ran back down... and passed.
I figure the same would happen with the Raptor v/s KFX.
See, a Raptor 700 can run about 75 mph on top speed, stock. And it has the power to get there pretty quick too. A lighter quicker bike like a 450 or 250 will pull it early, but get run down if the distance is far enough.
Myself, I am not the type who really cares anything about lining up and running long drags to see who's fastest.
I am more impressed by a "quicker" bike that handles really well. I want to be fast in the woods.
In the end though, if you want to run with him in a drag, a $10 front sprocket with one more tooth will do the trick. Jumping from 14/38 to 15/38 will put you right where you want to be.
