05 450r Frame/Subframe Shipped

Pappy, I sent my frame and subframe out today
I want you to Powdercoat them Candy Blue Translucent and wanted you to please look over the frame and see if you can clean up the areas that were poorly repaired around the footpeg mounts and the lower front bumper mount. Also, if any gussets are needed, please weld in the neccessary areas. Included in a packing envelope is the front fender mount tab that broke off the frame that needs welded back on. The frame has been stripped of all bearings and bushings except I forgot to remove the old steering stem bearing. I will be sending out the rest of what I wanted PCed, Swingarm, Clutch Cover, A-Arms, Valve Cover, Motor Mounts, ect. Let me know when you recieve the frame and if any questions call me

Did the frame/subframe arrive??? If so,how bad does it look?? I am waiting for my set of a-arms to come then i will ship the arms,swinger,and misc parts to you. Also, on the headpipe can you do black chrome in a heat powder???

Yep its here...well its at stripping but yes it arrived:p Ive seen worse:p

Negative on the pipe. I use a liquid coating on them

I can have them ceramic coated silver, I charge what I am charged and I think its around $75 for the headpipe

I can check if they offer what I use in a silver

The boxes I use to ship frames arrived today. The frame can now be brought in, a picture taken and then boxed for shipment

I will have my place cleared after this 30 inches of snow quits...but I cant speak for the state road for a fed ex pick up LOL

We were waiting to ship the stuff out to see how much chrome is for the upper a arms but it is too much so we are sticking with the powdercoat. Was wondering if you had sent the frame out? Sorry to rush you, I just want to get this build done fairly soon. First race is March 7th here. Thanks a ton!

The snow? Its way past dodad deep:p I have a pick up from Fed Ex scheduled but no clue when they will make it in here...UPS came a bit ago (big surprise) so hopefully Fed Ex will be along shortly

yeah 2 weeks is about right especially with this snow and 2 feet more due in here tomorrow night, but I will do it as quick as I can for you

Just an update.....

I spoke with Fed Ex today and they were recalling their drivers...mine called me direct but we just couldnt meet anywhere (it was snowing like mad and the box your frame in would have been soaked and ruined if I tried running it to town)

Tomorrow is out as we have another blizzard settling in here now (so do you so be ready LOL) Thursday they arent calling for snow and teh driver will call me and we will meet up so he can pick up my packages and I cant get more that he has for me.
Sorry for teh dealy, I cant control this blasted weather and did not want to chance screwing up the frame by pushing the issue in a storm

Took 6 hours to dig out today, drifts were over 10 feet deep in spots. All thats left is about an hours work and I can get into the shop from the driveway:p

If the silver doesnt arrive before the remainder of the parts are done then it will get the matte black I normally use. The only saving grace in this snowy crap is that I really havent had much to ship out as the bulk of my work the past two weeks has been local...your's the only job being held up due to Fed Ex having an "Inny" LOL

You should see everything on tuesday, I think your only a 1 day ship. You will be getting 3 packages

When you fire the quad up, you might see the pipe smoke. This is normal. I cure them for an hour in the oven but they will or can still smoke so make sure you have a door or window open. I would cycle the engine to full temp several times before washing or getting it dirty so that you season the coating.

One question though, when you took out my steering stem bearing did you throw away the C-Clip in there? Me and my dad couldn't find it anywhere and ran down to the Hardware store lol. I will post up pictures when the whole build is done. Thanks a ton

The quad is finally completed Pappy. I ended up racing it yesterday when I haven't even rode for 6 months! I still got 3rd, and finished my first 2 hour race. Thanks for the great PC work :D
