So I have been thinking about doing this swap for a while. I have already done the 450r rear caliper swap and i had the entire set-up already on the shelf. My 250r MC was complety worn out. It still worked great, but the actual MC metal was wearing down from 20 years of use without a guard.

Mr Honda is a pretty smart guy because the only difference between the 250r and 450 MC is the pushrod length. All i had to do was dis-assemble the two MC's and put the 250r pushrod (longer) into the 450r MC. sorry NO pic :(

I used the 250r rear resivor and brake hose as they fit right into the 450r MC. My Steel braided brake line was a direct fit also.

Like i said, i didnt do this for any real performance gain. It was more of keeping the old R running with some new easy to find parts. Hopefully you found this information useful !

Cool. I was thinking about trying this after I found the 400EX rear master cylinder bolted right up. My 250R rear caliper needs to be tossed.

Is it just me or does the shaft and cylinder NOT look straight ???

Hey Rusty, The 400ex M/C won't work as well as the 450.....the supply line connector points in the other direction. Unless you swap it out with the one from your 250r.

I just bolted it up to try it. Since I have a 450R front brake system, I wanted to have a 450R rear system to minimize the degree of "Frankensteiness" my quad has.
