so i got a 01 400ex big bore kit installed new jug power bomb header rejeted ...
im looking at a stage 2 stage 3 hot cam wondering if i got the stage 3 if i would have to make any other changes or if it is even benificial

also im looking at running around 105 octane around their maybe 110 would i burn anything out or have to make changes for that

dependswhere you want the power stage 2 is mid to top end stage 3 is even more top end,how high is your compression high octane is needed to help keep your motor cool

i got a big bore kit i think it was 11 : 1
for racing id rather have mid range power

High octane fuel has no effect on cooling.

Higher octane fuel is needed in high compression engines to keep the fuel from pre detonating as the race fuel has higher resistance to compression. Running low octane fuel in a high compression engine will cause the fuel to ignite or pre detonate under the high compression before the spark ignites it, and that's not good for the engine.

Really the only time a cooling effect would come from any fuel is if you were to convert to running 100% methanol. Methanol will result in a slightly cooler running engine.

so alright im going to talk to a mechanic tomorrow that works on racing bikes and quads but i got the 440 big bore kit w/e compression 11:1 i think k&n air filter power bomb header(soon) white brothers e series exhaust open air box

wondering if i should bump up to racing fuel for racing rather then 93 if it would make much of a difference or if it would save my motor by bumping up octane
also would it hurt anything in my quad to run racing fuel

I think with 11:1 compression you can run 93 pump.

I believe it's when you get into the 12:1's on the compression is where the need for race fuel comes in.

Will it hurt to run straight race gas such as 105 or 110? Absolutely not. You can even run a 50/50 mix of race and pump. I've ran straight 105 race gas in my stock motor and it didn't hurt anything, but it also didn't help anything in my case either with mine being stock compression. I just like to get that smell every once in a while but with the cost of race gas lately I think I'll be sticking with pump.
